Bluff Retreat is a brand-new three-bedroom home in the Show Low Bluff neighborhood, in the cool pines of Arizona’s White Mountains — about a three-hour drive from Phoenix. Days here run on a different clock: coffee on the covered deck, a morning at Fool Hollow Lake, an easy trail before lunch, and a fire in the pit when the light goes.

Inside, it’s set up the way we’d want it ourselves: two king bedrooms and a twin room for the kids, a kitchen stocked well enough to actually cook in — right down to the spice drawer — a coffee bar ready before you are, fast mesh WiFi and a desk if work follows you up the mountain, and a ping-pong table in the garage for the hours in between. Outside: a covered deck with a grill, a pergola swing, and big high-country skies.

Six, comfortably — a primary bedroom with a king bed, a second king bedroom, and a third bedroom with two twin beds. There are two full bathrooms.

Is the kitchen really fully equipped?
